CyberAbɔfra

Terms of Use

Last updated 11 August 2026

A short guide for families

CyberAbɔfra is an independent online-safety learning resource operated by Novastream Digital Ltd. Children may explore it with support from a parent, guardian or teacher. Use a fictional hero name, treat the lessons as general education, and ask a trusted adult for help when something serious happens online.

This short guide does not replace the full terms below. A parent or guardian should read and accept these terms for a child who cannot legally accept them independently.

1. Who operates CyberAbɔfra

CyberAbɔfra is a service operated by Novastream Digital Ltd., Accra, Ghana. In these terms, “CyberAbɔfra”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Novastream Digital Ltd. The service is independently developed and is not approved, accredited or endorsed by NaCCA, GES, the Ministry of Education, the Cyber Security Authority or another government body.

2. Who may use the service and accept these terms

CyberAbɔfra is designed primarily for learners aged 6–16 in Ghana. Children should use it with age-appropriate oversight. If a learner cannot legally accept these terms, their parent or guardian must review and accept them and is responsible for supervising the learner’s use. A teacher may supervise learning but does not replace parental or guardian authority where the law requires it.

If you use CyberAbɔfra on behalf of a school or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to do so and remain responsible for your organisation’s safeguarding, device, internet-access and curriculum-review duties.

3. Permission to use CyberAbɔfra

We grant users a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable permission to access the service for personal, household and non-commercial supervised classroom learning. Teachers and schools may display unmodified lessons to their own learners after reviewing their age suitability. This permission does not transfer ownership of the service or its content.

Contact us before commercially reselling the service, charging specifically for access, republishing substantial content, removing attribution, modifying materials for public distribution, or using the CyberAbɔfra identity in a campaign, product or partnership.

4. Safe and acceptable use

You must not use CyberAbɔfra to:

  • submit a child’s real name, school, address, photograph, phone number or incident details as a hero profile;
  • harm, threaten, exploit, groom, harass or impersonate another person;
  • upload or submit unlawful, abusive, misleading, infringing or malicious material;
  • gain unauthorised access, evade security controls, introduce malicious code, overload or disrupt the service;
  • copy, scrape or systematically extract substantial parts of the service, except ordinary search-engine indexing; or
  • misrepresent an affiliation with or endorsement by CyberAbɔfra, Novastream Digital Ltd. or a public body.

A parent, guardian, teacher or organisation must not enter children’s personal or safeguarding information into the enquiry forms. Use the appropriate official reporting or emergency channel for an actual incident.

5. Educational content and safety limits

The lessons provide general online-safety education, not personalised legal, medical, mental-health, financial, investigative or emergency advice. Stories and characters are illustrative unless an official source is specifically linked. Serious topics—including sextortion, grooming and image-based abuse—may require adult support, particularly for younger learners.

CyberAbɔfra does not monitor a child’s online activity, investigate reports, contact alleged offenders or provide an emergency response. If someone is in immediate danger, contact Ghana Police or the appropriate emergency service. For a cyber incident, use the current official reporting details shown in Ghana Resources. Do not delay urgent help because of anything on this service.

We review content carefully, but threats, laws, services and contact details can change. Verify time-sensitive or case-specific information with the relevant official body or a suitably qualified professional.

6. Completion certificates

A downloadable certificate records completion of a CyberAbɔfra learning pathway under the fictional hero name saved on that device. It is a participation record only—not a school grade, examination result, professional credential or accredited qualification. A school or employer should not treat it as independent proof of identity or competence.

7. Local data, privacy and optional Sync

Core learning works without registration. Hero profiles, Parent PIN hashes, preferences and progress are kept in browser storage by default and may be lost if browser data is cleared, the browser is reset, or the device is unavailable. We do not promise recovery of local-only data.

Optional Cross-Device Sync requires a parent or guardian email and affirmative guardian confirmation. When enabled, the listed profile and progress information is sent to our hosted database so it can be used on another device. Sync can be disabled, and its cloud account can be deleted while signed in. Turning Sync off does not itself delete an existing cloud copy.

Our Privacy Policy explains the information involved, service providers, international processing, retention, security, deletion and data-protection rights. Privacy consent may be withdrawn as described there; withdrawing optional consent may stop the related feature without preventing local use of the core lessons.

8. Enquiries and feedback

Information submitted through a contact or school-enquiry form is used to review and respond to the enquiry as described in the Privacy Policy. Submit only information you are entitled to share. Do not use these forms for emergencies, confidential child disclosures or reports that require an official response.

If you voluntarily send suggestions, you allow us to consider and use the ideas without an obligation to adopt or pay for them. This does not give us ownership of your personal information or of copyright material you identify as confidential or submit without the necessary rights.

9. Intellectual property

Copyright and other rights in the original CyberAbɔfra software, writing, lesson design, characters, illustrations, logo and branding are owned by Novastream Digital Ltd. or used with permission, as applicable. © 2026 Novastream Digital Ltd. All rights reserved, subject to the learning permission in section 3 and any rights the law gives users.

Third-party names, logos, quoted material, linked resources and public-sector information remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance is for identification, education or attribution and does not imply endorsement. Report a suspected rights issue to hello@cyberabofra.com.

11. Availability, accuracy and responsibility

We aim to keep CyberAbɔfra safe, useful and available, but we cannot promise uninterrupted, error-free or permanently available service. Features or content may be corrected, suspended or changed for safety, legal, security, maintenance or product reasons.

Users remain responsible for age-appropriate supervision, device and account security, reviewing materials before classroom use, and deciding whether general information fits their circumstances. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, or removes any statutory rights available under Ghanaian law.

12. Suspending or ending access

You may stop using the service at any time. You can remove app-owned local information through Settings → Forget My Data. If optional Sync was enabled, cloud deletion is a separate action available while signed in, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect children or other users, respond to unlawful or seriously abusive use, secure the service, or comply with law. Where practical, the response will be proportionate to the issue. Sections intended to continue after use ends—including intellectual-property and governing-law provisions—remain effective.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the service, law or our operating arrangements change. We will update the date above and, for a material change affecting existing users, use a reasonable notice in the service where practical. A parent or guardian should review a material update before the child continues using an affected optional feature. Changes do not remove rights or remedies that already apply under law.

14. Ghana law, concerns and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Courts or other bodies with lawful jurisdiction may determine a dispute. This clause does not prevent a user from approaching a regulator, reporting body or court where the law permits.

Please send a terms, permissions or service concern to hello@cyberabofra.com or use our Contact page. Privacy concerns and complaint options are explained separately in the Privacy Policy.
